Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board presented the results of the state’s work in the online gaming market in January 2023. It is reported that in comparison with the same month a year earlier, revenue increased by 18%, amounting to $464.5m. Online and offline casinos, as well as fantasy sports competitions, have contributed to achieving this impressive result. Hollywood Casino at Penn National contributed a large share. Its revenue was $71.8m, which is 25% more than in January 2022.
It is clarified that the gross revenue from gambling portals in Pennsylvania amounted to $133.1m, showing an increase of 23% compared to January 2022. In tax revenue, internet gaming generated about $55.5m.
As stated by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, in general, Pennsylvania’s gaming performance demonstrates not only good results but also excellent prospects. In recent months, it has repeatedly outperformed the neighboring state of New Jersey.
