Nigel Eccles started the BetHog platform in November 2024. It uses cryptocurrencies, streaming and their own unique cartoon pig-themed games to captivate players.
They’ve already built six outrageous games completely from scratch. There’s one called Hogger that’s like Frogger but with a pig hero. Players can bet on streamers as they navigate the levels. There’s also a game based on the crazy meme coin market called Hodl.
With $6 million in early funding, BetHog is looking to get existing crypto peeps hooked rather than newbies. But Eccles sees major potential in combining crypto and gambling. He talks about the transparency, access and innovation that blockchain enables.
While BetHog isn’t targeting highly-regulated markets like the UK or US yet, Eccles believes crypto’s momentum can’t leave these big countries out forever. For now though, they’re all about fun – the kind of social entertainment Eccles thinks is missing in current online casinos.
They want to build 12 original crypto gambling games by 2025. BetHog is cultivating a spirit of risk-taking wrapped up in casual arcade play.
